Mayday Emergency Information Technology Host
Have a look of the disasters over the latest 100 years, and do an extrapolation.
If we look on the natural disasters per year a clear YoY average increase is noticeable:
The reason of this increase is to a large extent due to man.
A quote from the INDEPENDENT:
“Climate change is increasing the risk of extreme weather events, including droughts, flooding and heat waves, according to a new report.
Researchers from the Energy and Climate Intelligence Unit, a non-profit organization that supports debate on climate change and energy issues, analyzed 59 studies which looked at climate change and extreme weather.”
This results in tensions in the world leading to additional catastrophes.
Resulting in absence of infrastructure, medical care and food, quickly followed with social unrest.
A quote from https://www.safetybasement.com:
“Why people loot after a disaster
It is almost expected now to see looting in the aftermath of a natural or man-made disaster. The aftermath of the topple of Saddam Hussein in Iraq in 2001, Hurricane Katrina, the 2004 Tsunami, the earthquakes in Chile and Haiti, the riots in London, and most recently Hurricane Harvey in Texas (2017), all reveal the same old story: many people choose to loot after catastrophes.”
The above mathematical equation does not take wars and financial disasters into account.
The outcome of the above leads to an unpleasant message:
The probability a disaster will present itself on your doorstep in your lifetime is close to 100%!!!!
When it happens expect to be deprived of internet, electricity, food, medical health care, water and gas, while people in the streets are rioting. With a high likelihood you will have to flee from your homestead.
When your life and the lives of your beloved are under thread, you want to have access to the best tools available under given circumstances. Having good tools under these circumstances provides you the best chances to survive the situation at hand.
